This article addresses common errors that occur on physical standalone terminals and pin pads and how to troubleshoot them.
- VXN Error 53: No Internet Connection (FD/First Data-series terminals Terminals)
- Check the ethernet cable to make sure one end is plugged into the yellow port on the terminal, and one end into a port on the router.
- Switch the port on the router that the cable is plugged into (it needs to be plugged directly into the router, not a switch in the wall)
- Try flipping the ethernet cable so you switch which end was plugged into the terminal/router.
- Try resetting the router: unplug the ethernet cable, then the power, wait 15 sec, plug the power back in, wait another 30 sec, plug the ethernet cable back in.
- Email Payscout and let us know you are receiving this error. Provide us with a good number to call, and a time so we can reach someone near the terminal. We will most likely reach out with a representative in case any file-level changes need to be made.
- Internet connection issues can cause not only disruptions in processing, but batch closure failures and other errors. If internet connection issues happen frequently, we recommend contacting your internet service provider to see if there is anything they can do to ease this.
- Invalid Pin
- If this occurs when you are entering the correct PIN number, it most likely means that you need a new terminal. Please call or email Payscout so we can begin the process of getting you a new terminal.
